The power of the acting choice

As a psychological dramaturg, I consult with playwrights, directors and artistic ensemble throughout all stages of developing a play.

I work with the artistic ensemble to create a psychological profile of each character through psychodynamic character analysis.

I assist in creating a lexicon for referring to emotions on stage that is based on concrete concepts rather than vague language.

I help actors fully understand and embody their character’s psychological profile, which includes portraying both conscious and unconscious gestures and movements with utmost verisimilitude. Once the actor has identified and explained why the character is behaving in a particular way in a given circumstance of the script, they have a power of the acting choice with which they can predict and control the behavior of the character.
